At a glance
  • Pocket PC controls your own computer from your phone: use it only with your devices or with their owner's permission.
  • The commands you send, including shutting down or restarting, run on your computer: save your work first.
  • Use trusted networks: the local connection is not end-to-end encrypted.
  • The free version has ads. Pocket PC Premium is bought on Google Play, as an annual subscription you can cancel at any time or as a one-time payment.

Who we are and what you agree to

Pocket PC is an app by DprojectLab, a software studio based in Guatemala. It consists of the Android app and the free Pocket PC program for Windows, and turns your phone into a mouse, keyboard and remote control for your computer. These terms are the rules for using it.

By downloading, installing or using the app or the Windows program you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. If you are a minor under the law of your country, use it with the permission of your parent or guardian.

Use it only with your own devices

Pocket PC is for controlling computers that are yours or that you have permission to use. With it you can move the cursor, type, run shortcuts, see the screen, send files and shut the computer down, so:

  • Do not install or use it on someone else's computer without their permission.
  • Do not use it to view another person's screen, read their messages or take their files without their consent, or to monitor anyone.
  • On work or school computers, follow that organization's rules.

You are responsible for what you do on your computer with Pocket PC and for using it in accordance with the law.

What happens on your computer

The commands you send from your phone run on your computer as if you used its own mouse and keyboard.

  • Locking, sleeping, restarting and shutting down ask you to confirm, but restarting or shutting down may close programs with unsaved work. Save your work first.
  • A tap, gesture or shortcut may reach the wrong window if another one is in front. Check what is on your screen before sending important commands.
  • If you edit a presentation's notes from your phone, the change is saved in your file. Keep a copy of your important presentations.
  • The Windows program opens when you sign in and, when installed, creates a Windows Firewall permission so your phone can find it. You can turn off automatic start from its icon and remove everything by uninstalling it.

Your network and your security

Pocket PC communicates with your computer over your local network, a cable or Bluetooth. That communication is not end-to-end encrypted.

  • Use it on trusted networks, such as your home or office network. On a public network, other people could try to see or interfere with that communication.
  • Authorize only your own phones. If you lose an authorized phone or no longer use it, delete the %APPDATA%\PocketPC folder on your PC: all phones will then have to ask for permission again.
  • Keep your phone, your computer and your antivirus up to date. The security of your devices and your network is your responsibility.

Files, clipboard and screen

The files you send, the text you copy and what you show in screen mirroring belong to you or to whoever gave you permission. You are responsible for having the right to use them and for them not being illegal. We do not see or review them.

Screen mirroring shows on your phone everything on your monitor, including private messages and data. Be careful about who can see your phone while you use it. How we handle your information is explained in the Pocket PC privacy policy.

Services from other companies

Pocket PC works together with products from other companies, which have their own terms: Google Play and Google Play services (download, purchases and QR code scanner), Google AdMob (ads), and Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Store and PowerPoint. We do not control those products, and their changes may affect Pocket PC features.

Windows and PowerPoint are trademarks of Microsoft, and Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google. Pocket PC is not affiliated with or sponsored by those companies.

Free version, ads and Pocket PC Premium

Pocket PC can be used for free. The free version of the app shows Google ads, and you can watch optional videos to get some ad-free hours. The Windows program is free and has no ads.

Pocket PC Premium adds features and removes ads. It is offered as an annual subscription or as a one-time payment, at the price shown by Google Play in your currency.

  • Google Play processes payments with its own system and terms. Pocket PC does not see or store your payment details.
  • The annual subscription renews automatically every year until you cancel it. If it includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before. You can cancel it at any time in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Premium is tied to the Google account you bought it with.
  • Refunds are governed by Google Play’s policies. If you have a problem with a purchase, write to us.
  • The Premium medal is an in-app recognition. It has no monetary value and cannot be transferred.

What is not allowed

To protect the app, its users and DprojectLab, it is not allowed to:

  • Use Pocket PC to access other people's devices, accounts or data without permission, to monitor them or for any illegal activity.
  • Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app or the Windows program, or try to obtain their source code, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • Sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or the program, or modified versions of them, outside the official stores and website, even for free.
  • Create or distribute apps, programs or websites that imitate Pocket PC or DprojectLab, or impersonate us.
  • Bypass ads, limits or payment for Pocket PC Premium by unauthorized means, or generate fake ad clicks or views.
  • Introduce viruses or other harmful code, or interfere with the operation or security of the app.

If you do not comply with these terms, we may stop giving you access to the app or to Pocket PC Premium, without a refund when the breach is serious, and take the appropriate legal action.

Intellectual property

The app, the Windows program, their name, logo, design and guides belong to DprojectLab. We give you permission to use Pocket PC personally, non-exclusively and as long as you comply with these terms. That permission does not give you ownership of the app.

Changes and availability

We improve Pocket PC with updates: we may add, change or remove features. We do not guarantee that it works with every phone, computer, network or future version of Android, Windows or PowerPoint. If we ever stop offering the app, we will let you know in advance when possible.

Liability

We do our best for Pocket PC to work well, but we offer it "as is" and "as available", without guaranteeing that it is error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, DprojectLab is not liable for unsaved work, lost or damaged files, damage to your devices, third-party access to your network, commands sent by mistake or indirect losses resulting from the use of Pocket PC. If we were ever held liable, the maximum will be what you paid for Pocket PC Premium in the previous 12 months.

If you use Pocket PC against these terms or the law and that leads to a claim by another person against DprojectLab, you are responsible for that use.

None of this limits the rights given to you by the consumer protection laws of your country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala, where DprojectLab is based, without prejudice to the rights the law of the country where you live grants you. Before any claim, write to us at soporte@dprojectlab.com: almost everything can be solved by talking.

If any part of these terms is not valid, the rest remains in effect.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect. Continuing to use Pocket PC after a change means you accept the new version.
